Review: “A Sacred Christmas” by Garth Smith

I recently had the opportunity to listen to an amazing new Christmas album entitled A Sacred Christmas by Garth Smith. The album starts out with a likely unheard version of For Unto Us a Child is Born that adds a very dramatic modern piano feel. Also throughout these incredibly beautiful piano melodies includes the voices and collaborations of Calee Reed, Michael Dowdle, The Sun Valley Carolers, Melinda Call, Mattie June Millward, and Lauren Sullivan. If you want to hear some new takes on some old songs that feel like both home and Christmas in the same package, then “A Sacred Christmas” is right for you. The title perfectly paints a picture of the feel of this album- that the subject of Christmas is sacred- and should be played as such. A Sacred Christmas is available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Apple Music, and more, including Garth Smith’s website. For a little flavor of what this album brings, here is a music video for O Holy Night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaBb188wW-M Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to email this to a friend (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)MoreClick to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share...
